With all due respect, this seems more like a muddled monologue than a conversation. Did I hear the Democrat gentleman say he will guarantee water for District 45 for the next two generations? Ya think?
I challenge anyone to write one to three sentences explaining what Rose took 4 minutes to say. Step right up, folks. You can win our grand prize – a Texas Insider baseball cap.

State Representative Patrick Rose talks about conservation issues in the Texas Hill Country, and the importance of supporting the Texas League of Conservation [NOT "Conservative"] Voters.
This video reminded me of Yvo de Boer’s incoherent rant which was featured in a previous Ramparts post called The American Nightmare. (After the Copenhagen debacle in December 2009 de Boer resigned his position.)
And yet Patrick Rose goes on, as do all the wannabe biden types until they are stopped in their tracks.

OH! And don’t forget Rick Green is conducting NRN’s Our American Heritage series part 3 talk on Aug 19. Details. Green is the former Republican State Rep from Dripping Springs who was “ousted” by Democrat Patrick Rose in 2002, in a race decided by only 335 votes. Were those absentee ballots by any chance? Just asking.

If I may: What a Crock!
As with all Libs, young Patrick runs all around the thing without ever saying truly what he means to say and truly why he is saying it.
And before I begin, let me say that I am confident that I have more standing on the issue of land conservation than any member of ‘the League’ and certainly more than my state representative young Patrick Rose, whose entire working career since the summer he graduated from college, has consisted of being a politician. In 2000 my partner and I bought 1300 acres in Dripping Springs (which includes the headwaters of Barton Creek) and donated a highly restrictive conservation easement to The Nature Conservancy of Texas. Private landowners, doing what they want to do, with their land.
This is not what young Patrick and the League advocate. No, they think that the state should confer upon counties the right to RESTRICT private land use under the ruse of clean air and clean water and the children (“future generations”).
Newsflash: Counties already have the state-granted right to restrict use under zoning laws. But the counties/municipalities have to prepare, file, and then hold hearings and elections on a comprehensive land use plan. You know, where people have a say and vote on it…how a representative government is supposed to work.
But not young Patrick and ‘the League’! No they want “…black letter law…” conferring these restrictive powers on counties by fiat, so that they can tell private landowners what they CANNOT do, and how much of their land they CANNOT do it upon.
Conservation of land should be the prerogative of the landowner. If you want to conserve a place, BUY it, and DO it. This would be a much better use of the donations to the League of Conservation Voters than funding wrongheaded lefty candidates (or one could donate to my favorite, the Hill Country Conservancy). And Patrick Rose is invited over to my place any time if he wants to see conservation at work, as opposed to the enviro-whacko vote buying at TLCV he seems to be so impressed with.

Well now, how very high-minded. “I’m for air and water”, shazaam! I’ll have to defer to Texas Ranger’s expertise on this issue but I know nonsense when I hear it.
Besides, I can’t really take someone seriously who threw a hissy fit and ran off to Oklahoma during the 2003 session.
Actually Mr. Rose, I know a few folks who intend to relieve you of the responsibility of protecting our air and water. You won’t be around for the 2011 legislative session but perhaps you can land a gig with TXLCV.
