Cruz Buzz: Holder, Earmarks, Etc.

by Sibyl West on February 3, 2012

One of the hottest issues of the week was yesterday’s congressional hearing with Attorney General Eric Holder.

Ted said President Obama should fire Holder immediately.

“Holder must be held accountable for putting guns in the hands of Mexican drug cartels that led to the death of an American Border Patrol Agent and hundreds of innocent people,” Ted added.

Here’s the petition calling for Holder to be fired:

Also, the Senate voted down a permanent ban on earmarks yesterday. Ted said:

I would proudly have voted for Sen. Pat Toomey’s permanent ban on earmarks, which sadly failed in the Senate today by a vote of 40-59. In fact, I would have helped lead the fight to pass it, along with Senators Toomey, DeMint, Lee, and Paul — all of whom are supporting our campaign…. This time, the vote failed. Next time, with strong conservative reinforcements in 2012, it will pass.”

Finally, more great buzz about the campaign this week. First, the campaign was endorsed by the Conservative Texans PAC (CTxPAC). There were over 25,000 votes cast! Also, earlier this week, Senator Jim DeMint appeared on KFYO radio in Lubbock and said Ted is “ready to take it on.” Here’s that interview as well as one with Mark Davis on WBAP on the battle lines in the Senate race.
