Wilco Bans “Vote the Bible” T-Shirt, Called “Offensive”

Texas Values Assists Intimidated Voter Forced to Cover Up Her Religious T-Shirt Before Voting

by Jonathan Saenz | October 31, 2012 | txvalues.org

Austin, TX, October 31, 2012–During early voting last week, a Texas voter in Williamson County was banned from wearing a t-shirt with the words “Vote the Bible” printed on the front. On October 24, Williamson County election workers at the Taylor City Hall polling place told Kay Hill that before she would be allowed to vote she had to turn her shirt inside out, go home and change, or cover up the words “Vote the Bible” because they “may be offensive to some people.”

After voicing disagreement numerous times, Ms. Hill ultimately complied and was forced to cover up the words “Vote the Bible.” Williamson County election workers provided her with an election worker’s jacket to cover up the “offensive” words.  Ms. Hill later spoke with Williamson County Election Administrator Rick Barron who confirmed that the election workers could make this decision to ban the words “Vote the Bible.”

“It’s outrageous that a person of faith would be mistreated this way while trying to vote.  If this isn’t voter intimidation, I don’t know what is?” said Jonathan Saenz, president of Texas Values. “We hope Williamson County officials step up and put an end to this injustice immediately.  No one else should have to suffer the humiliation, embarrassment and intimidation that Ms. Hill endured.  No one should be asked to give up their religious freedom in order to vote,” said Saenz.

Texas Values is assisting Ms. Hill in asking Williamson County to end this unfair policy immediately.  Texas Values has also requested that Williamson County issue an apology to Ms. Hill and circulate instructions to all Williamson County election workers and polling places that it is permissible to vote while wearing a t-shirt with the words “Vote the Bible.”

Ms. Hill is prepared to file a formal complaint with the Texas Secretary of State’s office if Williamson County refuses to remedy this situation by 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2012.

The letter sent to Williamson County can be found here.

Sowing The Seed

by Michael Baram | October 31, 2012 | Opinion

“Nearly all children nowadays were horrible. What was worst of all was that by means of such organizations as the Spies they were systematically turned into ungovernable little savages, and yet this produced in them no tendency whatever to rebel against the discipline of the Party.

On the contrary, they adored the Party and everything connected with it… All their ferocity was turned outwards, against the enemies of the State, against foreigners, traitors, saboteurs, thought-criminals. It was almost normal for people over thirty to be frightened of their own children.”

- George Orwell, “1984″

When I was a kid (back when cavemen ate dinosaurs) I joined the Cub Scouts. My parents got me a blue uniform which I wore with pride as I went to weekly meetings at our local Jewish Community Center. A few years later I graduated to the Boy Scouts, and my parents bought me a green uniform which I wore with pride as I went to meetings at our local Jewish Community Center.

It was at those meetings that I learned the meaning of flag, country, loyalty, responsibility, and respect for others. And, in summer camps, I learned about living with nature and respecting it. But all this was voluntary. Nobody grabbed me or drafted me in my classroom, at taxpayer expense, to learn to parrot propaganda for this or that politically-based cause. Especially for the purpose of apotheosizing a man chosen by vote to lead the country for a Constitutionally-limited period.

Things are quite different today. Four years ago, amidst the adulation and religious furor surrounding the candidacy of Barack Obama, we were “treated” to the spectacle of uniformed African-American youths predicting loudly that their dreams would now be realized under his rule (as if no Black youths ever achieved anything before Obama came along.) I wonder if these kids’ dreams have been realized in the last four years, given the high unemployment rate among Black youths.

Then we had a group of schoolchildren in Venice, CA, wearing matching t-shirts, led by an overly excited, animated, and exuberant woman, singing about how Obama would change the world, mindlessly repeating the Obamaniks’ “Yes we can” mantra. Tell me, boys and girls, after four years of “Yes we can”, are your fathers still working? Are you still living in the same houses or were they foreclosed? What’s it like, living in the perfect world you were promised?

There were others here and there, groups of impressionable children being indoctrinated into the Cult of Barry, dutifully repeating what they had been programmed to say and sing.

Now, for the last couple of years, we have thankfully been spared the spectacle of brainwashed tykes praising his glory via song and story, having only the endless fulsome adoration by the media to remind us of the Paragon of Perfection and his infallibility (since anything that goes wrong is George Bush’s fault). But, now it’s an election year, and all the plugs are pulled. Except for the ones on Joe Biden’s scalp.

A few days ago a video was released featuring a group of angelic pre-adolescents singing, not of hope and change and a promise for a more wonderful future under the leadership of The One, but of the apocalypse to come if the Republicans win the White House. We are treated to dire predictions of “an America, where strip mines are fun and free, and “sick people just die”. It just gets better as we finally manage to kill the polar bears and fry the atmosphere. If I didn’t know any better, I’d go broke replacing my Depends. I guess, though, that we can take some small comfort in the fact that the video is in black and white. I guess the campaign is running low on cash and can’t afford full color. (I know, it’s a computer program…I just thought I’d be sarcastic for a change.) Even David Limbaugh mentioned the video in his excellent article of October 30.

The crass, cynical exploitation of children, blessed as they are with limited reasoning capacity because they are…CHILDREN…defies all standards of decency. What can we expect next? Explosive vests? Children marching with AK-47s? Obamajugend standing in orderly rows as they salute with outstretched hands? It’s not as far-fetched as it sounds. Every totalitarian movement depends on control of the children in order to keep the parents in line. The year 1984 may have passed, but the chilling prophecies of the novel don’t need a number to become reality. Perhaps some of you may remember the scene in “The Killing Fields” where Dith Pran returns from his “labor for Socialism” in the fields to nurture his one tomato plant with its one tomato, only to find that a child has ripped it out of the ground out of her duty to the state.

We have a chance to elect a president who belongs to a religious group which is very family-oriented. I hope, as should we all, that a Romney presidency will set a new standard of education, where our children will once again be OUR children, and not the tools of this or that political movement.

A century ago, V.I. Lenin said, “Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.”  Let’s prove him wrong.

Put Crowbar HERE! True the Vote Needs Your Help Before the Election

We have to raise this $27,250 immediately or else I will have to scale back our anti-fraud poll watching efforts.

by Catherine Engelbrecht | October 31, 2012 | True the Vote

Last week I wrote you about our desperate effort to raise $50,425 in order to keep our anti-vote fraud campaign on track and to be ready for Election Day.

Unfortunately, we fell $27,250 short of that goal and I desperately need your help.

Please make an urgent donation of $25, $35, $50, $100, $250 or whatever you can afford to help True the Vote continue to root out voter fraud and prevent “progressives” from stealing this year’s election.

We are coming down to the wire. We’ve been recruiting volunteers and combing through voter databases for illegal voters for months.

However, we still aren’t ready to prevent, catch or even deter all the attempts to commit voter fraud that will happen next week.

Voter fraud is a huge and systemic problem in America. There are too many people who believe it is OK to vote twice, to cast someone else’s ballot or to manufacture illegal votes on a huge scale.

That’s why I founded True the Vote.

Just recently, Congressman Jim Moran’s son was caught on video instructing a supporter on how to vote for his dad multiple times!

There are plenty of “progressives” out there who believe that the ends justify the means. They are all too willing to break the law in order to steal an election.

And that’s what I fear will happen on Tuesday if I can’t raise this $27,250 right away.

All the polls say this is going to be a very close election. So the temptation to try to add a few illegal votes to tip the scales just enough is very, very great.

If next week’s balloting is to be free and fair, we need be able to deploy trained volunteer poll watchers in all the key states.

And we can’t do that without your help.

Please donate what you can right now.

True the Vote is a 100% private nonprofit organization. We rely exclusively on the generosity of citizens like you to conduct our research and to train and organize our poll watching volunteers across America.

And right now we really, really need your help.

If I can’t raise this $27,250 I will have to cut back on our Election Day programs. I am very serious about this.

Please don’t let the “progressive” vote fraudsters win. Please make an emergency secure online contribution today.

If you would like to volunteer to help make sure November’s election is free and fair in your state, please click here. Being a True the Vote volunteer is simple, doesn’t take much time, and you can make a real difference for America!

Final STOP THE BLEEDING Rally and Poll Working last day of early voting

VIDEO:  KVUE TV Truth Test on Prop 1

Prop 1 Opponents Rally for Votes at Early Vote Location

(Randall’s at Braker Lane & Research) at noon Friday (Nov 2nd).

WHAT: Final Rally and POLL WORK to STOP THE BLEEDING against Prop 1′s mammoth 63% property tax rate increase

WHERE: Travis County’s highest turnout Early Voting Location, Randall’s at Braker Ln and Research

WHEN: Nov 2nd (Friday), 12:00 noon

WHY: Draw attention to Prop 1′s misleading campaign promises, misleading ballot language, un-affordable tax increase

Austin, TX – Grassroots activists will rally for votes at 12:00 noon at the early voting location, Randall’s at Braker Lane and Research.

This early voting location was the busiest early vote center in Travis County and is popular with suburban voters likely to vote against Prop 1; in contrast, downtown area voters, who have dominated voting in typical Austin city elections, have controlled many tax increase and city bond elections in notoriously low turnout May elections.

Those downtown voters passed the original 2004 Hospital District tax election when about 93% of voters either didn’t vote, or voted against the Hospital District property tax. Campaign activists affiliated with the Travis County Taxpayers Union, and other groups, will be available for media questions and comments.

Be Careful When You Vote!

Sibyl West:  This from J.C. — and underline it three times because Mercury goes retrograde on November 6th!!!

I imagine that all of my email list have already voted in the Early Voting, however if you have not already voted please be aware that in two instances the electronic voting machines did not correctly register the votes.  If this happens to you follow these instructions.

A Note From the RPT Ballot Integrity Task Force

Check your Machines Carefully When You Vote!

From the Texas Republican Party Ballot Integrity Task Force

We have verified at least two instances in the state of Texas where an electronic voting machine did not correctly register the vote that the voter marked. In one instance, the person voted for Romney/Ryan, and the voting machine registered Obama/Biden.

In another instance, the person voted straight Republican ticket, and the voting machine registered straight Green Party ticket. In both instances, the voter caught the mistake and reported it to the Election Judge, and the voter was able to vote the way they wanted.

We want to emphasize that we do not believe this is a deliberate mistake; instead, it is caused by a miscalibrated voting machine.

We want to emphasize that this is a very rare occurrence. However, even one wrongly registered vote is unacceptable.

Therefore, we are writing to advise voters to check their voting machine carefully before casting their votes.

If you find that your machine has not registered your vote correctly, do this:

  1. Stop voting immediately. DO NOT CAST THE BALLOT.
  2. Get the Election Judge and bring them to your voting machine to show them the problem.
  3. Do not leave the voting location until you are able to vote correctly.

The Election Judge should immediately remove from service the machine that has made the mistake and should not allow any other voters to use it.

We also ask that you report the incidence to our Ballot Integrity Task Force either by email or phone. Tell us exactly what happened, and what the Election Judge did to resolve the situation. If the machine was not taken out of service, then we need to know that, too.

Please contact us about any other voting concerns or questions you might have as well.

Pennsylvania SHOCK Poll: Romney 49 Obama 45

Mitt Romney vs. Barack Obama: Interesting poll results from Pennsylvania

by DEAN CHAMBERS | OCTOBER 19, 2012 | Examiner.com

While the campaigns of both President Obama and Mitt Romney are focusing on campaigning heavily in the key swing state of Ohio as if that state really will decide the election, which it still could do so, the race might well be more quietly decided in Pennsylvania. A survey of the state released yesterday by Susquehanna Polling and Research and discussed on the firm’s blog site today shows Romney with a 49 percent to 45 percent lead over the president in the Pennsylvania. That result surprises many, and differs with several other polls, and invites a more detailed analysis of the polling landscape in Pennsylvania.

First a look at the partisan makeup of the electorate in the state. Keep reading

And. here is the candid observation by one of the commentators on the ground…

Commenter writer59 says:

I live in Montgomery County outside Philly. Romney doesn’t need to buy ads. Most people these days just mute the TV when political ads come on anyway or speed through them if they can. In 2008, there were signs in 80% of the yards I drove past and most were Obama signs. Today, there are signs in less than five percent of the yards and a lot of those are for local politicians, not president. The enthusiasm for Obama just isn’t there this time around. It’s just a guess, but I think people are uncomfortable admitting they are voting for this disaster of a president and uncomfortable, because of accusations of racism, admitting they aren’t voting for him. So they just keep quiet and leave their yard empty. I don’t think anyone will know how PA is going to go until election day. People here just don’t seem to want to talk about it or advertise their decision. But judging by the polls showing Tom Smith tied or slightly ahead of Casey, I think things will be tighter here than Obama supporters are expecting. Just my two cents.

How about this: Romney 359, Obama 179

The UNSKEWED Projection of the 2012 Presidential Race

Excerpt:

Perhaps some of the most surprising states to some will be the following:

Colorado: 54-45 Romney — a suprise for many still expecting Obama to carry Colorado

Connecticut: 51-47 Obama — closer than expected, and probably an indication that Linda McMahon wins the state’s U.S. Senate seat

Florida: 54-46 Romney

Iowa: 54-46 Romney — many don’t expect this

Maine: 49-49 Obama — much closer than expected

Michigan: 51-48 Romney — the surprise of the night, Romney’s home state ties are more key than Obama’s claims to have “saved” the domestic auto industry

Nevada: 52-47 Romney — this will surprise many

Minnesota: 51-47 Romney — this will surprise many

New Hampshire: 53-46 Romney

New Jersey: 50-49 Obama — much much closer than expected, the Romney campaign will re-allocate resources to New Jersey if they believe this number

New Mexico: 53-46 Romney — most don’t expect Romney to win New Mexico

Ohio: 54-46 Romney — Late momentum and great ground game win the Buckeye state for Romney

Oregon: 52-46 Romney — major surprise

Pennsylvania: 53-47 Romney — big time upset

Washington: 51-49 Obama — closer than expected

Did You Get Yours Yet?

Central Health and the gang really, reeeeally want you to vote YES for Prop 1.

They sent me this notice to prod me along, and when I went to vote the other day there was an elderly fella with a pony tail at the polling place, handing out sample ballots to people in line and making sure to mention to vote for Proposition 1.

But I voted AGAINST Prop 1. Why? Don Zimmerman summed it up:

“The Prop 1 campaign is a contest between Republicans and Democrats seeking profit from higher property taxes, versus Republicans and Democrats (and Libertarians) who pay the taxes.

Now this.

Hearing scheduled in Travis County Taxpayers Union VRA taxpayer suit against Proposition 1

via Admin | October 26, 2012 | TCTUnion.com

AUSTIN, TX—Today the federal district court in Austin set an injunction hearing for the Proposition 1 challenge which, if successful, will stop the votes from being officially certified—a process called “canvassing”—and prevent Proposition 1 from being implemented during the duration of the lawsuit. The hearing is set for the week after the election. At this time the hearing is not expected to be held prior to voting on November 6th.

Don Zimmerman, Treasure of the Travis County Taxpayer’s Union SPAC (TCTU), believes this is a positive de velopment. “When the Health District decided to put this language on the ballot at the proverbial 11th hour, it required us quickly challenge the issue. Now that we have a day in court, we are confident that the voice of the Travis County taxpayers will be heard. Government groups like the District are supposed to be neutral on the ballot, and in this instance they were not. We believe the illegal advocacy language the District added to the ballot will be recognized and the District will be prevented from counting Proposition 1. ”

Zimmerman refers to language the District added beyond what the law permits, language that promotes the ballot Proposition. The proposition is printed below, with the extra language in bold-face type.

Approving the ad valorem tax rate of $0.129 per $100 valuation in Central Health, also known as the Travis County Healthcare District, for the 2013 tax year, a rate that exceeds the district’s rollback tax rate. The proposed ad valorem tax rate exceeds the ad valorem tax rate most recently adopted by the district by $0.05 per $100 valuation; funds will be used for improved healthcare in Travis County, including support for anew medical school consistent with the mission of Central Health, a site for a new teaching hospital, trauma services, specialty medicine such as cancer care,community-wide health clinics, training for physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals, primary care, behavioral and mental healthcare, prevention and wellness programs, and/or to obtain federal matching funds for healthcare services.

“This isn’t a bond, where the District needs to explain what plans it has for the taxes and can spend it as long as the voters agree with the reason. This is a pure property tax increase, so the District is expressly limited by law to spend money only for the legal reason it was created: providing medical services to the poor and indigent. No extra ballot language is necessary because the statute is clear. All of the rhetoric on the ballot is a deceptive attempt by the District to get people in favor of the proposition,” Zimmerman added.

Damning. Leaked DOE Emails Expose White House Cronyism

Is the green energy boondoggle really a calculated looting scam? Say it ain’t so! We always suspected it, the dots were so numerous. But here in one place do we not only have the connecting line, we also have the CIC’s direct response — a smirk. “Catch me if you can” has been the name of the game in Washington D.C. for the last four years.
