CBS 2′s Mike Parker reports the victim, 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton, was taking shelter from the rain with a group of 10 to 12 teenagers under a canopy in Vivian Gordon Harsh Park on the 4500 block of South Oakenwald Avenue around 2:30 p.m., when someone jumped a fence, ran up to them, and opened fire.

One reason the conservative movement is faltering is because we are more like the dominant anti-fact culture than we would like to admit. To think that we are not tainted by the culture in which we live is not only dangerous, but irrational.
To properly understand our post-fact, anti-intellectual culture we must appreciate that objective truth has been delegated to a strictly personal value category. The anti-fact culture denies there is objective truth while also believing truth is whatever you want it to be. Objective truth, according to the anti-fact culture, only exists within an individual’s personal value structure and that personal value structure has no connection to anyone else’s personal value structure.
So, conservatives, how do you respond to those who read the Constitution and Federalist Papers as objective truth? Do you agree with what they say and then trail off into subjective nonsense upon uttering the word “but?” If you do, then you have achieved the Orwellian Feat of holding two opposing ideas within your mind simultaneously. You are a product of the anti-fact culture that you can see in others, but not yourself. You have dismissed the concept of objective truth in pursuit of your own opinion which is based on the magical ability of precedent evolution to make The Constitution mean whatever the last guy said it means, not what the words actually say.
It was our Founders’ dedication and allegiance to what they knew to be true in regards to human nature, natural law, and transcendent principles that united them to withstand all manner of obstacles to achieve the victory for all men of equality, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
The only way to separate yourself from the anti-fact culture is to place your faith, trust, hope, and even your sacred honor in objective truth that remains fixed and unchangeable.

The core of public education and health care are deteriorating and we’re talking about Obama’s “decoy”!
There are so many traditional values, fiscal and moral, under attack that those of us in opposition to leadership find ourselves either running in multiple directions or chasing the “decoy” while our opposition makes changes to all the remaining. Hand it to him, our President is brilliant at throwing out a single (though very important) issue such as gun rights, and while we all are fighting against this constitutional anchor, he smiles and continues to rebuild our economy, health care system, military, international relations, and more!
Before I get “bombed” by many, I am a lifetime NRA member with my CHL license and am proud of my Christmas gifted S&W with the laser beam! However, I still believe it will be a cold day in “you know where” when they pry the guns from Texas. The Texas State Rifle Association does a great job and any politician who wants to vote against gun rights, pretty well “bids farewell” to their job. In fact, if the most absolutely unbelievable circumstance were to occur and our Texas House and Senate both pass any ban on guns, please remember, it was Governor Perry who shot the coyote while jogging with his CHL sidearm. Bet he’d shoot any such bill with his CHL veto pen just as quickly.
President Obama has successfully distracted both the legislators and we, the people, from putting our efforts into what matters most. Texas Comptroller Combs has confirmed that public education may move to second place in taxpayer funding. Also, the Texas Medical Association says we will be 44 thousand primary care doctors short by the end of the decade! The core of public education and health care are deteriorating and we’re talking about Obama’s “decoy”!
Now, I know that there are many other important issues besides healthcare and public education, but with just a few months left, let’s get our eyes back on the ball and not forget there are many important issues we must defend in our state in just the next few weeks. We can fight in DC full time after May, but until then, don’t let Mr. Obama control the Texas legislative agenda!

From the office of U.S. SEN. TED CRUZ (R-TX)
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) introduced legislation to fully repeal the Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare, that President Obama signed into law on March 23, 2010.
The bill has 32 Republican co-sponsors.
“I promised the voters of Texas that the first bill I would file as a U.S. Senator would be to repeal every last word of Obamacare, and that’s a promise I’m proud to keep,” said Cruz. “Unfortunately, this bill will not pass in the current Congress, but I will continue working hard until we have the votes to repeal Obamacare in its entirety. Obamacare was passed over the strong opposition of the American people, and it has already driven up the cost of health insurance and caused employers to drop their coverage If it continues to be implemented, it will reduce the quality of healthcare, produce scarcity and rationing, and insert government bureaucrats between patients and their doctors. I will continue to work for Texans to expand coverage through effective free-market reforms and to protect the integrity of the doctor-patient relationship.”
Co-sponsors:
Ron Johnson; Vitter; Roberts; Grassley; Cornyn; Portman; Paul; Rubio; Johanns; Wicker; Coburn; Isakson; Blunt; Chambliss; Barrasso; McConnell; Inhofe; Flake; Coats; Boozman; Risch; Burr; Cochran; Fischer; Collins; Scott; Toomey; Alexander; Lee; Hatch; McCain; Sessions.

Sibyl West: I have found that Discover the Networks has the best collection of facts yet on the Benghazi terrorist attack that killed four Americans. Have a look.
| BENGHAZI: THE TERRORIST ATTACK OF SEPTEMBER 11, 2012 | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARYThis report examines the most significant events that occurred before, during, and after the September 11, 2012 Islamic terrorist attacks against an American diplomatic mission (and a nearby CIA annex) in Benghazi, Libya. In March 2011, American diplomat Christopher Stevens was stationed in Benghazi as the American liaison to Libya’s “opposition” rebels—among whom were many al Qaeda-affiliated jihadists—who were fighting to topple the longstanding regime of President Muammar Qaddafi. Ambassador Stevens’ task was to help coordinate covert U.S. assistance to these rebels.
Following Qaddafi’s fall from power in the summer of 2011, Ambassador Stevens was tasked with finding and securing the vast caches of powerful armaments which the Libyan dictator had amassed during his long reign. In turn, Stevens facilitated the transfer of these arms to the “opposition” rebels in Syria who were trying to topple yet another Arab dictator—Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. As in Libya, the rebels in Syria were likewise known to include al Qaeda and other Shariah-supremacist groups. In addition to facilitating arms transfers, Stevens’ duties also included the recruitment of Islamic jihadists from Libya and elsewhere in North Africa who were willing to personally go into combat against the Assad regime in Syria. The U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi served as a headquarters from which all the aforementioned activities could be coordinated with officials and diplomats from such countries as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. |

It was reported by various news sources that our Pharaoh, Obama, would fly to Las Vegas, Nevada for just one political speech–just ONE short speech on a possible piece of legislation, an evolving compromise, between Democrats and Republicans in Congress to grant amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants.
According to The Weekly Standard, this short trip would cost taxpayers over $1.6 million just for the travel alone.
At the same time, the commentators on the morning talk show on KLBJ radio said that it was predicated that Obama, in his speech, would express his disapproval with one aspect of the evolving compromise on immigration in Congress–the period of time it would take to grant amnesty leading to citizenship. According to the talk show, Obama wants citizenship to be bestowed on illegal immigrants in time for them to be able to vote in the 2014 off-year elections.

More buzz- and tweet-worthy words Hillary Clinton has never spoken. In her Benghazi testimony to the Senate, she defiantly asked, “What difference does it make?” if the truth behind the attack is ever known. And in asking, Ms. Clinton revealed the thinking of so many on the Left – the thinking that TRUTH in government is often of little import.

Burbmom: This panel is serving to push the democrat agenda paid for by the Austin tax payer. Opposing view points should be permitted when an event is promoted by a government entity.
Sibyl: Agreed. But then, what do you expect if it is backed by the “Department of Public Relations & Multicultural Outreach”? Are they more concerned with certain tribes than others? Just asking. Multiculturalism, for those unfamiliar with the term, is a great way to rot a society by balkanizing it to bits. Just look at Britain and Europe. Not having to assimilate – say, isn’t that the same as colonization?
What’s wrong with assimilating and becoming American? Of standing on your own two feet, making a contribution to society by working at what you do best and being your own person? I’ll tell you what’s wrong with it. People who think for themselves are more difficult to control. From the perspective of a politician, it is much more preferable to buy votes with taxpayer money by bestowing food stamps, subsidized housing, Medicaid and Medicare, disability and unemployment compensation. So what if it makes the new immigrants dependent on government? Isn’t that a good thing?
But public education in Austin needs MORE MONEY. You know, for things like this…

Seriously. Anything Kirk Watson is for, I am against. And Donna Howard won her election by something like 4 – 16 votes. She is against parents, the SBOE and other neanderthals having a say in curriculum. Then there’s the green wizard Mark Strama, champion of clean energy. No confidence there from me since I know where they would take us. I hope some of our activists will attend and make this photo op go a little differently than expected.
