Above the Law

by Jan Shedd | March 8, 2013 | Kaufman County Tea Party

On February 23rd, Save Texas Schools sponsored Save Texas Schools March and Rally. It was held on the capitol steps in Austin.  Save Texas Schools is a leftist, Big Ed organization designed to get as deep into the Texas taxpayers’ pockets as possible “for the children.”  Save Texas Schools is supported by numerous left-of-center organizations like Raise Your Hand Texas, The Equity Center, Intercultural Development Research Association, LULAC, Texas Forward, lots of state teachers’ unions, and many ISDs, such as Dallas, Forney, & Crandall.  For a complete list, go here.

A bunch of Marxists who call themselves the International Socialist Organization were in out in force at this rally, chanting, “We’ve got an education fix: TAX-TAX-TAX the rich!” Some things never change.  I have a socialist fix: Convict them of treason and deport, deport, deport.  It’s doesn’t rhyme, but it will work.

image001Speaking at this rally was shameless Republican Thomas Ratliff.  Mr. Ratliff represents District 9 on the Texas State Board of Education (SBOE).  The counties of District 9 are:

Anderson, Angelina, Bowie, Camp, Cass, Cherokee, Delta, Fannin, Franklin, Grayson, Gregg, Harrison, Henderson, Hopkins, Hunt, Kaufman, Lamar, Marion, Morris, Nacogdoches, Panola, Rains, Red River, Rockwall, Rusk, Shelby, Smith, Titus, Upshur, Van Zandt, and Wood.

Take no comfort if your county is not on the list.  Out of 15 districts, only 5 state school board members are actual conservatives.  The rest either lean left, or are far left, and every bit as corrupt as Ratliff.

Mr. Ratliff makes his living as a lobbyist. Why should you care? Because he serves in violation of the law, and has been for years.  As a lobbyist for Microsoft, there are conflicts of interest, not the least of which includes a ruling from the Texas attorney general that registered lobbyists representing companies that do business with Texas schools cannot serve on the SBOE.

Microsoft does business with the SBOE and the TEA. No doubt that he & Microsoft have profited immensely from his position on the SBOE.

So what’s he doing there? Well, it would require a two-thirds vote from the House to impeach him, but he is so well connected and powerful that so far, our representatives have not been inclined to take up the issue, though they should. Representatives should be inundated with emails and phone calls about this issue, continuously.  Tell them to ENFORCE THE LAW. Keep in mind that the SBOE collectively makes decisions that affect ALL Texas schools, including yours.

Did I mention that Ratliff supports CSCOPE, the infamous Marxist-indoctrination curriculum being taught all over Texas?  And that he profits from that too?

A few parents will be relieved that their children are in private schools, or home schooled.  Keep in mind that those children are a tiny minority of all of Texas’s school children.  So while your kids may be getting an excellent education, as adults they will enter a world where they are vastly outnumbered.  What’s more, as soon as Obama can get to it, he will tell private schools that either the federal government controls their curriculum, or they will be closed.  Home schools will be completely outlawed.  The only reason this has not already happened is because so few children have the private/home school advantage.  But it’s coming.  Marxists are detail oriented.

During the last Republican Primary, we had an excellent candidate running against Ratliff.  His name is Randy Stevenson.  Alas, Randy fell victim to voter incompetence.  But don’t cry for him.  Cry for our children, our state, & our future.

No, we aren’t in Massachusetts or California.  This is Texas, but the reality is that people like Thomas Ratliff run Austin.  Democrats are promising to turn Texas blue in the next two elections.  With people like Ratliff serving as the “opposition,” turning Texas blue becomes a realistic & dangerously attainable goal.  The only thing that can stop it is grassroots activism.  Texas is our last defense against Washington, D.C.

Too Big to Swallow

by Jan Shedd | March 3, 2013 | Opinion

History has a way or repeating itself.   Back in 2009, as Barak Obama assumed power, many Americans recoiled in horror at his socialist policies, which gave birth to the second incarnation of the Tea Party (the first being the Boston Tea Party of 1773). All over America, liberty loving, grassroots patriots mobilized to save their country.  Since then, we have had some spectacular successes, and some disappointing & dangerous losses, not the least of which was Barak Obama’s reelection, and Joe Straus’s reelection as Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives.

The patriots of the 18th century won their war.  The outcome of ours remains to be seen. As freedom was threatened then, it is in grave danger now. The founding fathers left us a legacy rich in examples to follow.  I would like to talk about one of them.

As any woman who has had a child will tell you, births are difficult and painful. During the process of our birth as a nation, representatives from each of the 13 colonies met many times over a period of years. (Think of it as really long labor.) There were many differences of opinion from the get-go, & too many heated arguments to count.  But they stuck it out because they knew that if they stayed separated, they could not stand up to Great Britain.

The only way to defeat the world’s greatest army was to unite and become one.  This would require compromise.  Today, most patriots hold the word in contempt.

Compromise has become a dirty word because conservatives are regularly browbeaten with it.  Indeed, it has become a weapon of mass destruction.  But compromise is neither good nor bad. Its value is determined by its context. The Left, ever redefining the language, has changed the meaning of compromise from, “a settlement of differences by mutual concessions,” to “total surrender” from those they seek to dominate. Ditto for “bipartisanship.”

Healthy compromise should happen when two or more groups, who share common interests and goals, (like limited government and respect for life), disagree on how to achieve those goals.  Our government was designed to run on such compromise.

Earth to RINOs: Only fools compromise with those who seek their complete and total destruction. When faced with a determined enemy, the correct approach is to fight and defeat them utterly, not to make deals, John Boehner & Karl Rove.

If we are to win the war against Marxism, the grassroots must unite.  Currently, we are small tribes scattered all across the country.  To become a powerhouse capable of destroying American socialism, we will have to compromise-not with the enemy-but with each other.

The enemy is organized and united.  We are neither. If this does not change, we will lose our country.  What can you do in the months and years to come?  Support grassroots unification with your heart and soul.  It will require some sacrifice on all our parts, but it must be done. The basics, like life, the Second Amendment, marriage, & border security are non-negotiables.  But there will be other issues near and dear to your heart that may, in your view, get short shrift. I’m not suggesting that you turn against your principles and convictions, but you may have to set some of them aside for the foreseeable future.

Predictably, a united Tea Party will do something you won’t agree with. You will then be faced with the choice of saving it for later, or holding fast-to your everlasting regret.

As long as we remain in little pieces, we will be quickly and easily devoured by the socialist machine.  We have won a few battles, but we are losing the war.  We can choke the enemy by becoming too big to swallow. It is my hope and prayer that the Tea Parties of Texas will unite into a single organization, and set an example for other states to follow. This cannot happen unless Texans all over the state wholeheartedly support it.  Let’s get it done.

United we stand, divided we WILL fall.

Rhetorical Boorish

by Jan Shedd | January 8, 2013 | Opinion

image001If there was any doubt that Speaker of the House John Boehner has been in office too long, and has moved from the right to the left, the following quote should put it to bed.  After he barely survived being reelected to the Speakership, he said:

“We are sent here not to be something, but to do something.”

This is classic leftist rhetoric.  It sounds good, but upon analysis, it falls apart.  “We are sent here not to be something.”  What?  The importance of whom and what you are cannot be understated, for it has a direct impact on the “something” that you do.  I would go a step further and say that it has an impact everything you do. We send our representatives to Washington to BE honorable & industrious.  Any district represented by someone who is not both has a serious problem.  So yes, Speaker Out-of-Touch, we do send our representatives to Washington to “be something.”

Speaker Boehner goes on to tell us the something they are sent there to do is “the right thing.”  But if he doesn’t understand the import of “being something,” his ability to discern the right thing from the wrong thing is damaged, which has been clearly on display of late.  The “something” he undoubtedly is referring to is resume-enhancing deals & bargains with the enemy.  (Like I said, he’s out of touch.)

At this point, many of you are thinking, “But our government was built to run on compromise.  If we don’t ever compromise, nothing will ever get done.”  Let me make myself perfectly clear: People who are not suicidal will wisely compromise with others who share similar goals, but disagree on how to attain them.  They do not compromise with other people whose goal is their complete destruction.  If the entity you are compromising with does not believe that you have a right to exist, there can be no compromise.  Believe me when I say that the modern Democrat Party, and their RINO brothers and sisters, want to annihilate our Constitution, culture, heritage, and liberties.  The only difference in the two groups is that the former is in a hurry, and the latter wants to go slowly. Given the amount of power the Democrats hold today, nothing getting done sounds pretty good.  In fact, it’s probably the best we can hope for.

John Boehner is the poster boy for what is wrong with the Republican establishment.  Unlike the left, he doesn’t hate America, but he loves himself more.  We need representatives who love their country right after God and their families, instead of country coming after their portfolios and egos.  Boehner is dead weight, and should be sent back to Ohio for good.

The Antidote to Tyranny

by Jan Shedd | December 17, 2012 | Kaufman County Tea Party

image001Last December, the Freedom from Religion Foundation informed Henderson County, Texas that a lawsuit would be filed against it if they did not remove the nativity scene from their courthouse lawn, even though it was fully compliant with federal law.  What do you suppose attracted a bunch of atheists from Wisconsin of all places, to Henderson County?  Surely they could find a nativity scene somewhere that didn’t include Frosty or Rudolf, or some public high school kid with the 10 Commandments tattooed on his arms. Guess not.

FFR likely thought that the lawsuit would generate a little rumbling from the public, while the real battle would be waged in the courtroom, assuming the county commissioners didn’t cave.  How much money could a rural county in Texas have to fight a well financed bunch of atheists anyway? They even had a lawsuit-happy local who openly sided with them.

But something happened on the road to godless glory that they did not foresee. No one did.

Instead of quickly removing the nativity, Henderson County refused FFR’s demands. Then, December 17th was designated as the day that a rally in support of the nativity would be held on the courthouse lawn in Athens. It was organized by area pastors.  Fox News picked it up, where I saw it.  I called the pastor of First Baptist Malakoff and spoke with him.  I conveyed the information to Ray Myers, head of the Kaufman County Tea Party.  Myers sent the rally info to his statewide contacts, and something truly extraordinary happened. Truly!

Christian conservatives turned out by the thousands, telling FFR to “come and take” their nativity scene off the courthouse lawn.

texans-rally-to-save-nativity-scene-from-atheists-december-19-2011

Christians, who have been the backbone of this nation from its founding, no doubt shocked the God-hating carpetbaggers with their open rebellion.  Ordinarily Christians prefer to keep a low profile, and the last thing they want to do is make a spectacle of themselves. Not this time. FFR left.  And the aforementioned local recently stated that he was dropping his lawsuits.  How did conservatives win such a spectacular victory?

You have to understand Marxists to connect the dots.  All Marxists are bullies.  All bullies are cowards.  They will threaten, intimidate, and attack until someone bigger than they are stands up to them with something which I affectionately refer to as “bully-speak.” It’s the only language they understand. Last December, 5000 Christians bully-spoke to FFR, and FFR backed down.  After all, what’s a few atheist wienies compared to 5000 Christians? (They’re back, but not in Henderson County.)

I’m sure that everyone who attended that day had plenty of other things they could have been doing.  But on this day, for reasons only God knows, they set all of it aside to tell the tyrants to get out of Texas. Victory is what we get when we locate and apply our spines.

The future will call for many more December 17ths if we are to survive our country’s foolishness. We should all be asking what we can do.  Signing petitions and eating at Chick-fil-A accomplishes nothing. When local Tea Parties organize events, protests, seminars, rallies, meetings-arrange or rearrange your schedule and be there, and bring your children.  The world is becoming a dangerous place.  We must teach our children what to do when they become adults. If you are asked to contact your representatives about a particular issue, take the time and do it. It’s important and it matters.  We wouldn’t ask if it weren’t — we have lives too. Benjamin Franklin said, “We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.”  If conservatives “hang together,” it will create a tsunami that cannot be stopped.

Long live December 17th, 2011!

The Menace in Sheep’s Clothing

What is The National Council of Churches?

by Jan Shedd | November 28, 2012 | Kaufman County Tea Party

The Marxist’s mission to destroy America began over 60 years ago.  They have worked tirelessly over the decades to elect someone like Barak Obama to the White House.  When they started out, most Americans were keenly aware of the dangers of Communism, which required them to operate quietly and behind the scenes.  But as the years went by, patriotic Americans began to forget that freedom isn’t free, the primary consequence of which was socialism-creep. They were emboldened by winning many battles, and barely losing others. Today, they are quite open about their agenda.  But in the middle of the last century, this was not the case.  In 1950, an organization was formed to promote the Communist cause in America “in the garb of religious teachings.”

It was named “The National Council of Churches.”

Every Sunday, millions of Christians all over America attend their chosen houses of worship.  Of that number, many donate generously to their church.  Worshipping God with a financial gift is just as important as worshipping Him with our spirit, and usually this is a good thing . . . but sometimes things are not what they seem.  Read on.

The NCC was founded in New York City by members of its Communist front-group predecessor, the Federal Council of Churches.  In the beginning, they were openly Marxist.  But this no doubt created problems, so they recast themselves as representatives of the Christian left, (now there’s an oxymoron!).  They promoted liberation theology, which is really Marxist ideology parading as Christianity.  The NCC’s membership consists of 36 Protestant, Anglican, and Orthodox Christian denominations, with 50 million members in 140,000 congregations. Are you a member of one of them?

The NCC openly rejects capitalism, while it supports numerous socialist causes and governments.  Some of the recipients of their support belong to the international community.  In the 1970s, they supplied financial aid with hundreds of thousands of dollars for Soviet-sponsored terrorist rampages by Communist guerrillas in Africa & Central America.

Be Careful What You Ask For

by Jan Shedd | November 10, 2012 | Kaufman County Tea Party

They’re baaack! The same crowd that gave us Scratch Offs is two-stepping again. Advocates for expanding gambling have been working behind the scenes with assorted RINOs and Democrats for years, formulating a grand strategy to expand, expand, expand.  Unfortunately, money alone isn’t enough to make their dreams come true.  Expanding gambling will require a change to the state’s constitution. They need a two-thirds majority vote in the both houses of the legislature to put a referendum before the voters. The wolves are willing, but many of them have constituents who would end their public careers if they supported it.  What to do, what to do?

For years now, we’ve been hearing from people like Joe Straus that we can’t cut our way to prosperity.  They don’t want to raise taxes, they tell us, but we must have more revenue.  This was the laying of the foundation, if you will. Conservative activists understood the meaning behind the rhetoric, and have been bracing for an extremely well funded assault. It’s here: LetTexansDecide.com is a milk-and-honey propaganda campaign designed to sell expanded gambling to Texas voters.

First of all, let’s call it what it is: gambling.  They call it gaming because it sounds better.  Monopoly is a game.  Checkers is a game.  To call gambling a game is like calling a tiger a kitty-cat.

Gambling supporters will soon be spending millions of dollars to sell Texans on the idea of expanded gambling.  How will they do it?  For starters, look at what they’re calling it: “Let Texans Decide.” How could anyone oppose that?  Pro-gambling websites are full of reminders that Texans don’t like nanny-state government, and should be able to make up their own minds, as though that were being denied to us somehow.  When state office candidates run on an anti-expanded-gambling platform, you can vote for them or against them.  We are quite able to make our wishes known about the bane of gambling, and don’t let anyone convince you that we don’t.

Let’s take a look at what Let Texans Decide says.

1. Casinos at racetracks would add $8.5 billion in economic growth statewide.

I don’t know where these numbers come from, but a very educated guess would be “economic studies” paid for by gambling interests.  It is very likely that an unbiased study would show much lower numbers. Only 2% of gambled money is taxable.  The rest goes to the casino/slot machine owners and the prize pool. What is certain is that legalized/expanded gambling never lives up to its promises.  Remember how the lottery was going to pay for education? Whatever happened with that?  Other states have added slots to save their failing horse tracks, called racinos, but decline in interest continued unabated and the horse tracks closed anyway.

2. Texans already gamble outside our borders – according to a 2010 study, 90% of the customers at casinos on the Texas-Oklahoma border are Texans.

This information is disseminated to make you think that people who leave Texas to gamble want it in their backyard so they don’t have to drive so far. Some Texans oppose gambling outright in any form, anywhere, based on religious or other reasons.  Most have nothing against it whether they partake or not, but they understand that it comes with baggage that they don’t want to deal with, and they see having to drive out of state as a small price to pay. I have heard people say this.

3. Casinos at racetracks in Texas could generate an estimated $1 billion annually in tax revenue.

All states trying to convince their voters that gambling is good use this same “$1 billion” number.  It too is a highly questionable figure. Promises, promises . . . if gambling is so lucrative for states, why is Nevada in such dire economic straits?  One reason why is that they keep electing Dirty Harry Reid, but it’s not realistic to put all the blame on him alone. Something else is afoot.

Let Texans Decide also tells us that expanded gambling will add thousands of jobs to our state.  This is true.  Expanded gambling will mean more government.  The State will have to hire more workers to oversee it, and those workers will have to be paid salaries, medical benefits, and pensions.  Also, there will be a large increase in law enforcement & prison guard positions because where gambling goes, crime follows.

Something else you won’t find on Let Texans Decide is the fact that gambling hurts cities.  Wherever there are casinos, the areas immediately surrounding them deteriorates.  Companies don’t like to be located in slums, so they either move away, or avoid going there altogether. Of the five U.S. cities hit hardest by the recession, four were in gambling states, and two [were] in Nevada.

Did you know that much of the lottery revenue in Texas comes from the same areas with the highest rates of people on public assistance?   It’s less than comforting to think that the lottery creates extra need in districts that use need as political clout to increase taxpayer assistance.

The Dallas chapter of the NAACP recently voted unanimously to eliminate the lottery.

Members of the nation’s oldest civil rights group [the NAACP] say they are frustrated by poor and minority Texans spending their money on [lottery] tickets, rather than necessities such as rent or health insurance–Ft Worth Star Telegram

I believe that if a referendum were held today, gambling would lose.  But after months of disinformation on television, billboards, newspapers, the Internet, etc., gambling interests might be able to convince a majority of Texans to support it.

To quote Vladimir Lenin, “A lie told often enough becomes the truth.”   Don’t be fooled by the rhetoric of people who will say almost anything to open the lucrative floodgates of gambling.  The same people who sold us the lottery with solemn promises of plentiful revenue in the early 90s are making the same promises again.  They were wrong then and they’re wrong now.

Death, Taxes & Educrats

by Jan Shedd | November 10, 2012 | Kaufman County Tea Party

The Terrell Independent School District (in Kaufman County, Texas) consists of 8 schools.  Two of them received “academically acceptable” ratings from the Texas Board of Education in 2011.  Two others are not rated. The remaining four names and accountability ratings are as follows:

  • Terrell High School — Academically Unacceptable
  • Herman Furlough Middle School — Academically Unacceptable
  • J W Long Elementary — Academically Unacceptable
  • Dr. Bruce Wood Elementary – Academically Unacceptable

“Academically unacceptable” is the lowest possible ranking.  A school with two consecutive academically unacceptable ratings can be closed by the Texas Education Association.  All six of the rated schools in Terrell received academically acceptable ratings in 2010.  But in 2009, Furlough, Kennedy, and Long were rated unacceptable.  So while these schools came perilously close to State intervention, thus far they have avoided it.

The population of Terrell has gone up in the last several years, but school enrollment is down.  No doubt due to poorly performing schools, parents are pulling their children out of Terrell’s schools and turning to home schooling, private schools, or other school districts.  But for many parents, these options are not available.

Businesses have refused to locate to Terrell on account of the schools, which makes the Terrell Chamber’s of Commerce opposition to a charter school very curious indeed. Terrell taxpayers should be outraged, but the real tragedy is that children graduating from Terrell ISD are likely to begin their adult lives educationally handicapped. They and society will pay a heavy price for this for years to come.

Over the last two years, a group of citizens headed by local pastor Lonnie Harris have banded together to try to do something about the sad state of education in Terrell.  Pastor Harris realized that the best solution would be to establish a charter school for Terrell’s children, and he has worked tirelessly & selflessly to make it happen.

Not surprisingly, Terrell’s educrats, (establishment educators focused on maintaining the status quo of administratively top-heavy school districts at the expense of classrooms and students) have fought the efforts of Pastor Harris and his band of supporters. Keep reading…

Laughs, Lies & Debate

by Jan Shedd | October 12, 2012 | Opinion

Clearly Martha Radditz is a team player, and did what she could for Joe Biden during the vice presidential debate of 2012. Small wonder that the left is singing her praises today.  Like the rest of her professional siblings, she left fairness and objectivity at the door, and allowed Biden to run the show. In 90 minutes, Biden interrupted Ryan 82 times, and Radditz interrupted him 31 times.  That’s more than 1 interruption per minute.  I thought Obama wanted “everyone to get a fair shot.”  There’s nothing fair about two against one, but it’s the way Marxists work.

Throughout the debate Biden showed very little presidential-ness, but plenty of vice.  He repeatedly interrupted Ryan, speaking during the time allotted to his opponent, & even interrupting Martha herself.  When Ryan was allowed to speak, he was thoughtful, serious and honest.  What little time Biden wasn’t running his mouth he was smiling, rolling his eyes, laughing, smirking and generally acting the fool. No doubt useful idiots cheered as Biden served up the red meat while Radditz played along.  But voters tuning in to see a serious and respectful debate were turned off by Biden’s rude & boorish behavior.

Just exactly what was so funny?  This country is facing horrific problems like emboldened terrorists in the Middle East and elsewhere, a nuclear Iran, a very sick economy, soaring, unsustainable taxes & debt, the Libyan embassy attack and resulting cover-up, joblessness, $4 a gallon gas, and an administration that frequently aids and abets our enemies.  If that’s funny, I don’t get it.

Martha thought she could zing Ryan by bringing up abortion.  Ryan said that he was opposed to abortion, not just according to his religious beliefs, but because of the mountain of science to prove that fetuses are fully human.  Now there’s a radical!

Biden responded with one of the most illogical, absurd excuses ever to emerge from the pits of hell.  He said that he accepted his church’s teaching on life beginning at conception, but that he didn’t think his personal beliefs should be forced on other people.  Like all Marxist rhetoric, it sounds good, but upon closer inspection, it falls apart.  His church also teaches that rape is a sin.  Does that mean that Biden personally would not rape a woman, but wouldn’t allow his conviction to interfere with what other men choose to do with their bodies? Mindboggling.

Joe Biden is a near constant embarrassment to this country, and last night was no exception. This is not the time to keep an obnoxious joker in a position of leadership.  He’s a disgrace and voters should say so on November 6th.

Tweedle Dum & Tweedle Dee and the Texas Budget

Between Straus and Gooden, the mischief will never end.

by Jan Shedd | August 18, 2012 | Kaufman County Tea Party

Two articles recently appeared in the press.  One was in the Texas Tribune, dated July 9th entitled, Straus: Process to End Budget Diversions Starts Now, where Speaker of the Texas House Joe Straus proclaimed that budget diversions must come to an end. Budget diversions are an accounting gimmick to balance the state’s books, but not really.  They simply move money from its dedicated purpose into general revenues, and presto-chango, the budget is balanced.  Of course this leaves the dedicated account empty, but so what?

This has been going on since the 1980s, and according to Lance Gooden, it’s against the law.  If Lance is correct, then hundreds of state reps have been violating state law, including Lance.  BTW, Lance is currently flouting Texas’s Open Records laws.*

Ordinarily when someone stops breaking the law it’s a good thing.  But in a cesspool like Austin, things are not always as they appear.  The truth is that “ending budget diversions” is more than just a sound bite, it’s a strategy.  The Tribune goes on to report that, “He [Straus] acknowledged that it [ending budget diversions] may take longer than one session, as the Legislature will need to find revenue elsewhere or cut the budget to make up the difference.

“FIND-REVENUE-ELSEWHERE.”  This is RINO-speak for tax increases and/or expanded gambling.  After all, you can’t cut your way to prosperity, right?

The other article ran in The Forney Post on August 6th.  It essentially gives the same information as the Tribune piece, but does so by fawning all over Lance Gooden.  We are told that Lance wants more transparency in the state’s accounting practices.  From what I have seen “Lance” and “transparency” don’t belong in the same sentence.  He actively opposed transparency in government in the last session by voting against things like “a line-item for each specific program administered by an agency, specifying amounts proposed for each line-item, citing the legal authorization for each program, & stating whether the funds are from general revenue, federal funds, or another source.”** And then there’s the matter of where he lived before he was outed by the Tea Party for not living in District 4.

The Post goes on to venerate Lance by telling us that,

“Rep. Gooden has been praised by conservative [RINO] groups across the state for being a strong advocate for open government and budgetary reform while serving on the powerful House Appropriations Committee. He has consistently opposed budgeting gimmicks and plans to continue to fight the establishment in the upcoming session.” (Emphasis mine)

I must be in Wonderland.  Lance Gooden is the establishment.  Why would he fight himself?  We’re talking about someone who asked for a $2 million earmark for an entity outside of his district. He has yet to explain why, and the Forney Post wants us to believe that he’s a budget hawk?  The article is not sourced. One has to wonder if Lance wrote it himself, or perhaps the author is too embarrassed to give his or her name.

Between Straus & Gooden, the mischief will never end. Rest assured that the Tea Party will do everything it can to end District 4’s shame in the next election.  We have promised Lance that he will get an expensive primary every time he runs for reelection, and we intend to keep that promise until he is finally defeated and sent home to Houston.

*Author’s note:  As for flouting open records, this comes from personal experience.  I submitted an open records request back in May, about a week before the election.  I requested the following:

·         tax returns from 2010 & 2011
·         his primary residence
·         “The name of the business where he works for or at, and its address”
·         A copy of his insurance license.

He claims to be an insurance broker, yet two searches online by insurance professionals could not turn up a single thing with his name on it, expired or current.

I sent it certified but he failed to pick it up when notified. A complaint was filed with the Attorney General. On July 12, he was notified by that office to respond to the request within 5 days. As of today I have received no information.

The Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum of Fiscal Policy

The Joe Bozo Show

by Jan Shedd | August 16, 2012 | Kaufman County Tea Party

On Tuesday at a campaign rally in Danville, Virginia, perpetual gaffe machine and Marxist buffoon, Joe Biden, opened up his big mouth once again and said to a largely black audience:

“Romney wants to, he said in the first 100 days, he’s going to let the big banks again write their own rules. ‘Unchain Wall Street!’  They’re going to put y’all back in chains.”

Biden is an instrument of Communist disinformation as much as he is a fool.  We can only guess if his remarks were made in ignorance or with the intention to deceive.

In fact it was the Democrats who supported the chains of slavery in the 19th century, and the Republicans who opposed them.  Abraham Lincoln was a Republican, remember?   In the 60s, Republicans supported civil rights, which is why Martin Luther King was a Republican.  Southern Democrats fought against civil rights. Republicans have always supported human rights. Democrats have not.

Ever wonder what slavery and abortion have in common, other than Republicans oppose both, and Democrats don’t?  In both industries, you have to believe that your victim is somehow not fully human.  Republicans knew then what they know now, that black people are created equal and endowed with inalienable rights by their Creator.  Ditto for the unborn. Today most of them fight the same evil, only it’s the legalized murder version, instead of human trafficking.  Slavery and abortion are siblings borne of the same father, Lucifer.

The hate machine in Chicago quickly jumped on all this, saying poor Joe was misunderstood or taken out of context .  .  . blah, blah, blah. More disinformation.

Of course, Republicans believe in a color-blind society with equal opportunity for all.  The reason the socialists keep calling them racists isn’t because it’s true, it’s because useful idiots will believe anything they’re told if they like whoever’s doing the telling.   This habit of theirs does them no favors.  Nor does it help anyone but the elite political class.

Our Marxist president has a lot of problems.  The last thing he needs is The Joe Bozo Show. Let’s just enjoy it.  After all, he’s just getting started and in times like these, we could use a few laughs.

Allen West Makes Claim about Democrats in Communist Party 4/10/12

Published on Apr 11, 2012 by

At a town hall meeting in Jensen Beach, located in the district in which Congressman Allen West will be running for re-election in a new seat (FL-18), West states that, when asked how many members of the Democratic Party are card-carrying Marxist Socialists, that he believes that they are 78-81 members (in Congress) of the Democratic Party who belong to the Communist Party.

Go West!

by Jan Shedd | April 11, 2012 | Kaufman County Tea Party

On the afternoon of April 10th, Florida Representative Allen West was asked at a town hall meeting what percentage of the American legislature consisted of “card-carrying Marxists” or international socialists.  His answer: 78 to 81 members of Congress, and they call themselves the Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC).

Our entire government, not just the Congress, is infested with socialists.  Our president is a socialist!  But you would be hard pressed to find a single Republican that would say so out loud, even though we all know it.

The courage Rep. West has demonstrated with his answer is as rare as it is refreshing.  He will now be savaged by the enemy.  The mainstream media is already saying that he has no evidence to back up his accusation.  You don’t need evidence, just pay attention.  Regrettably, far too many Americans are too lazy to think for themselves.  The mainstream media knows it and takes full advantage. They are also accusing him of saying the CPC are “secret” Communists.  He never used that word, nor conveyed its meaning.  The leftstream media threw that in to make him look like a conspiracy nut.  “He’s not naming names!” they cry.  He doesn’t have to – just google it and you can read them yourself.

And to make him look like a liar, they are reporting that he is accusing “almost half” of the Democrats in Congress of being communists.  There are 244 Democrats in Congress.  Half of that would be 122, which is 42 more than 80.  Not exactly “almost half.”  In the interest of full disclosure, they are all Marxists, as in 100%.

So, what is the Congressional Progressive Caucus?  Go here to see the list of members. The co-chairs are Muslim Keith Ellison, and a guy named Raúl Grijalva.  You might remember Raul.  He led the boycott against Arizona when they passed their anti-illegal immigration bill back in 2010.  He also supports infanticide, and vice-chairs the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Equality Caucus.  Admitted socialist Bernie Sanders is the Senate member of the CPC.  The House members include big-mouth clown Maxine Waters, and The Beast of Houston, Sheila Jackson Lee.  High school drop out, and former Black Panther Bobby Rush is on the list as well.  And then there’s Steve Cohen, who supports gender equality, progressive taxation, & the medicinal excuse for marijuana. I could go on . . .  you get the idea.

They offer something called The Progressive Promise, which is a hodgepodge of liberal double speak, like “fairness.”  You know “fairness,” a nice word for equal distribution of misery.  The CPC is really nothing more than a group of Marxists, following the Alinksy model for revolution.  They are the latest incarnation of the Soviet empire.  This country cannot deal with them effectively because none of our leaders, but for Allen West – God bless him – will dare to speak what we all know.

The first step in solving a problem is identifying it, which is what Rep. West has done.  Instead of remaining silent, conservatives should rush to Rep. West’s defense.  I hope he hears from MILLIONS of us.  Call his office at 202-225-3026 or email him, and tell him how much you appreciate his courage. And if you can, contribute to his campaign.  The Florida RINOs are as bad as they are here in Texas.  They changed his district so he wouldn’t be reelected.  We need thousands more Allen Wests.  Let’s encourage all of them by supporting this one.

Slot Machine Joe Has to Go

by Jan Shedd | April 9, 2012 |  Kaufman County Tea Party

Joe Straus is the representative for Texas District 121 which covers some of Bexar County, & includes part of San Antonio.  He is also the Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives.

In January of 2009, conservatives from all over Texas met in Austin to try to derail his bid for the Speakership.  When they handed a great victory to Republicans in the 2008 election, they thought the corrupt business-as-usual system had taken a hit, and some real progress could finally be made.

What they discovered was that in Texas, just because you’re a Republican, doesn’t mean you’re a conservative.  From the days of Reconstruction, Texas was a Democratic state.  If you wanted to run for office and win, you’d best do it on the Democratic ticket. But in the 80s, the socialist takeover of the Democrat Party became harder and harder to ignore. The majority of Texans wisely moved to the Republican column as a result.  Back then, the Republican Party was conservative. My how times have changed!

Today, except for a few urban areas, if you want to run for office and win in Texas, you’d best do it on the Republican ticket. As Democrats ran as Democrats, they lost. But eventually they realized they were spinning their Marxist wheels in the mud, and decided that they would run on the Republican ticket as conservatives.  In order to fool the voters, they proclaimed their undying devotion to the Second Amendment and to life for the unborn.  They campaigned on conservative themes, knowing that once they were elected & got to Austin, they could practice a little subterfuge and govern as liberals.  This, Virginia, is why we call them “Republicans-In-Name-Only.”  It is difficult to say exactly when they figured this out, but they did, and while we thought we were voting for genuine conservatives, we were really electing RINOs.

The Democrats have great designs on Texas If they can make it blue again, conservatives will never again win another presidential election.

A primary -no pun intended- example of this fine kettle of fish is Joe Straus.  He is liberal by most Texans’ standards, and corrupt.  Like most RINOs, he is well funded, entrenched, and powerful.  If he wins reelection in his district, it will be very difficult to stop him from being elected as Speaker again.  This will be very bad for Texas.

Last Christmas, Santa brought Texas conservatives a wonderful gift: Matt Beebe (pronounced “bee-bee”).  Matt is a business owner who is raising a family in San Antonio.  He has never run for public office, and he’s a real conservative.  While I have never met him, I can’t help but respect someone willing to stand up to the Straus machine.

On April 5th, an article entitled “Doubting Beebe” by Brian Chasnoff, appeared in the San Antonio Express-News.  Throwing objectivity to the wind, Chasnoff questions Beebe’s characterization of himself as “an ‘ordinary person’ motivated by everyday concerns.”  Chasnoff “doubts Beebe” by attempting to connect him to an outfit called FreedomWorks. He quotes Beebe praising FreedomWorks mission of politically empowering rank and file citizens. Chasnoff goes on to tell us that Beebe is either stupid or a liar.   You gotta love the way libs work.  He suggests that Beebe views FreedomWorks & the Tea Party as close allies.   There is no connection between the two, nor did Beebe make one.  So let’s dispense with that.

Next he tells us that FreedomWorks has its roots in the now defunct Citizens for a Sound Economy, which was partially funded by-HORRORS-the “arch-conservative, petrochemical billionaires” the Koch brothers!!!!  Liberals hate the Koch brothers.  I happen to like them.

He goes on the classify FreedomWorks as extreme, while suggesting that it supports Beebe’s campaign.  Whether or not FreedomWorks is good or bad I will leave to my readers to decide.  These are the facts:

1.  Dick Armey is the leader of FreedomWorks, & he has endorsed Matt Beebe. True.

2.  FreedomWorks has endorsed Matt Beebe.  False.

3.  FreedomWorks has contributed to the Beebe campaign.  False.

4.  Dick Armey has contributed to the Beebe campaign. False.

5.  FreedomWorks is connected to the Tea Party. False.  The Tea Party is not connected to FreedomWorks in any way. The two organizations share similar interests and goals.  That’s it.

6. Texas Tea Parties, and associated organizations like Empower Texans & Voices Empower, support Matt Beebe. True.

Chasnoff goes on to diss FreedomWorks, suggesting that Matt Beebe is somehow guilty by association.  This is pure deception.

Straus has recently been derided by conservatives for promoting big government by saying, “I think at some point you can’t cut your way to prosperity.”  Conservatives take offense to this.  No one thinks that prosperity can be achieved by cutting spending alone. Mr. Chasnoff defends Straus by quoting him, saying  “we’re going to have to prioritize and be smart about growing our economy.”  This is RINO-speak for “Let’s raise taxes and legalize gambling!”

If Straus can legalize slot machines in Texas, his family stands to make millions.  This is conservative-speak for “conflict of interest.”

This masterpiece of misinformation ends with Mr. Chasnoff warning us to “beware [of] the radicals who hope to silence this voice of reason” in the name of the ordinary citizen.  Joe Straus is the voice of business-as-usual, line-my-pockets corruption, and views ordinary citizens with contempt. The “radicals” Chasnoff is referring to are us-you, me, & Matt Beebe.  In November these people are going to be sent a clear and resounding message, but they’re not going to like it.  The spirit of the Alamo is alive and well, and not just in San Antonio!  Together we WILL take Texas back.

Corruption risk huge for state governments. See Texas’ Scorecard

by Jan Shedd | March 19, 2012 | Citizen Report

For those of us paying attention, this comes as no surprise.  Thank you RINOs, Democrats, David Dewhurst, & Joe Straus. You make us proud.

State Integrity Investigation

Open records laws with hundreds of exemptions. Budget decisions made behind closed doors. Ethics panels that haven’t met in years.

Those are among the examples of corruption risk we found in the State Integrity Investigation, an unprecedented examination of America’s state capitols. The bottom line? Not a single state earned an A grade in the year-long investigation. Half the states earned D’s or F’s. Find out what your state is doing right and wrong.  See your state’s report card and share it with officials.

50 states and no winners

Some states are making progress toward cleaning up their capitols. Yet many states’ anti-corruption laws are riddled with loopholes or barely enforced. Read an article on the Investigation’s findings by Caitlin Ginley of the Center for Public Integrity.

No More Mr. Nice Guy

By Jan Shedd | March 18, 2012 | Opinion-editorial

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

~ Matthew 7:15

I have been active in the Tea Party movement for 3 years, and was involved in the Bob Hall for Texas Senate District 2 campaign.  I and many others worked hard to help Bob meet the considerable challenge of an unknown Tea Partier wresting the Republican nomination from a well known and well funded incumbent.  The focus of our efforts was to debunk the myth that Senator Robert Deuell was a conservative.  Bob told us from day-one that the campaign against Deuell was to be clean. There would be no name calling or character assassination.  We were to stick to the issues alone.  This made our job much harder, but we rose to the challenge, presented the facts, and proved our case to anyone who would listen.

Throughout my experience on the Hall campaign, I spoke with many people.  Both supporters and detractors of Deuell said the same thing, and I heard it often, “Dr./Senator Deuell is a nice guy.”  Many Hall supporters said that they really liked and respected him, but disagreed with his voting record.  I met and spoke to him once.  He seemed nice enough to me.  I have heard that he tells people his is a Christian.

However, something has happened that should put to bed the notion that Bob Deuell is a nice guy.  Before I reveal what it is, I need to lay some groundwork.

Senate candidates must have lived in the state for a minimum of 5 years. Candidate applications include residency questions.  Bob Hall inadvertently gave an incorrect answer on the number of years he had lived in Texas.  He has lived here for 10 years.  The oversight indicated that he had been here for less than 3.  He submitted the application to GOP Headquarters in Austin, unaware of his mistake. It is the responsibility of that office to review each application, and make sure that everything is in order.  He was told in December that it was satisfactory.  He checked with them again in early March, and again he was told that everything was good. It was not.

There are two possible scenarios here, both of which would expose Bob Deuell for being an unscrupulous politician:

First Scenario

The “oversight” of Hall’s state residency error was intentional, and communicated to the Deuell campaign.  Upon learning of the error, Deuell sat on it until the March 9th deadline.  Late that afternoon, he contacted the GOP office, and filed a challenge based on insufficient state residency.  On the same day at 5 p.m., Republican headquarters in Austin called Hall’s home and left a message on his answering machine, telling him his application had been challenged by Deuell, and he had 1 hour to correct it.  Bob was told several days later that faxes and emails are not accepted, meaning that he would have had to have submitted a correct application IN Austin in 1 hour, (by the 6 p.m. deadline).  This was humanly impossibly, naturally.

Second Scenario

The GOP oversight of Hall’s state residency error was an honest mistake.  The Deuell campaign obtained a copy of the application and went over it carefully.  They found the error and kept it quiet until the last minute.  Sometime in the late afternoon of the last day, he challenged the application.

Not because Hall hasn’t lived in Texas long enough, but because he didn’t meet the 6:00 deadline, he has been declared ineligible, and his campaign is over.

I will leave to my readers to decide if the GOP office truly missed the error (twice), or if they were somehow complicit in this dirty trick.  Short of an independent investigation, we will never know.

Throughout the campaign, we have seen no Deuell signs anywhere.  Out of 12 candidate forums, he only showed up for 4.  At those forums, people were taken aback at his indifference, aloofness, and emotionally flat demeanor.  Instead of addressing his liberal voting record, he talked about playing drums – now there’s a hot button issue!  If you have heard Bob Hall speak, you know that he does so with great conviction.  The contrast in presentation was dramatic, which left us scratching our heads.  “Doesn’t Deuell want to win?”  “Doesn’t he realize how repeatedly not showing up for forums makes him look?”  Being new to the process, it never dawned on us that the fix was in.  Deuell knew all along that he was running unopposed. Talk about disenfranchising voters!

Where does this leave us?  Now we have two myths to debunk.  One, that Deuell is a conservative, and two, that he’s a nice guy.  Bob Deuell is a big tax-and-spender, a radical environmentalist, a suck-up to political correctness, a shady politician, and an embarrassment to the voters of District 2.  This fiasco illustrates how deeply Deuell is immersed in Austin’s culture of corruption.

Regrettably, we are stuck with him for another term, but his treachery will not be forgiven or forgotten.  Power must be taken away from corrupt politicians and returned to the people.  Rather than being discouraged, our resolve has hardened.   Deuell is at the top of the RINO Removal List and in the next election, an army will rise to vote him out of office.  After all-you reap what you sow, and hell hath no fury like District 2 voters scorned.

Whoops! He Did It Again

by Jan Shedd | February 11, 2012 | Opinion

“In all of life’s tribulations, there is nothing so aggravating as being condescended to by an idiot.” ~Ann Coulter

The last time that I can recall Barack Obama making a fool of himself quoting scripture was in September of 2010, when he attempted to provide a scriptural justification for Marxism.  He stated that following God included being his brothers’ and sister’s keeper, saying it was a precept of Jesus Christ.  This is incorrect.  In Genesis 4, after Cain murdered his brother, the Lord asked him where Able was.  Cain’s reply was, “I know not.  Am I my brother’s keeper?”  Of course Cain knew exactly where Able was.  “Am I my brother’s keeper?” is “a precept” of a murderer and liar, not Jesus Christ. Barry likes to quote this one a lot, probably because he and Cain have a lot in common.  Maybe Cain was a Marxist.  He certainly acted like one.

Barack Obama is a committed atheist who isn’t capable of understanding the Bible.  But he’s running for reelection, and he wants people to think that he’s a Christian, even though it’s apparent to any objective, thinking person that he is not.  There’s no such thing as a Marxist who accepts the existence of a supreme being, real or imagined, including Allah.

At this year’s National Prayer Breakfast, he tried to snow people by inadvertently showing his ignorance of the Bible … again.  With his nose in the air, he arrogantly sneered Luke 12:48 which states among other things, “For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required.” This verse comes from a section in the Gospel of Luke where Jesus is speaking to his disciples.   In Chapter 12, Verse 41, Peter asks a question.  The Lord answers by admonishing them to be wise and faithful stewards.  He then explains that those stewards who get lazy, drunk, and mistreat underlings while the master is away, will eventually be punished according to what they knew about their lord’s will & his expectations of them.  He then tells them “But he that knew not [about his lord’s will & expectations], and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much [a high level of knowledge about their lord’s will & expectations] is given, of him shall be much required”

Jesus explained to His followers, of which Barack Obama is not, that we will be held accountable to Him based on our level of understanding of Him.  Those who were blessed with a rich knowledge of God & His Word will be held to a higher standard than those whose knowledge was more limited.  Clearly, Jesus was not talking about an all powerful government taxing its wealthy citizens to redistribute wealth.  I have yet to find that anywhere in scripture.

When God says, “much shall be required,” He means that it will be required by Him, not by godless unbelievers whose lofty self-opinion creates confusion within their own minds between themselves & the Creator of the universe. Lucifer had that same problem, you may recall.

If Barack Obama was as smart as the liberals tell us he is, he would stop quoting scripture.  For when he attempts to justify his evil designs with the word of God, he exposes himself for the fool that he is. Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?  Indeed He has.  This country needs a God-fearing leader instead of an atheist deceiver.  Remember in November.

Obamacare, the Culture War and You

We’ve been getting a ton of hits on Jan Shedd’s  “Comfortcare” – What Obamacare Will Bring. Yesterday a reader sent this message:

I AM INTERESTED TO KNOW IF THE ARTICLE ON OBAMACARE IS TRUE OR FALSE AS IT RELATES TO WHAT COULD HAPPEN TO ME AS FAR AS HEALTH CARE AT AGE 70 AND OVER SHOULD I BE FELLED BY AN ANEURYSM OR STROKE.  ONE MUST DETERMINE WHETHER OR NOT THIS IS TRUE OR FALSE FIRST.  SINCE I AM A PROFESSIONAL NURSE AND AGE APPROPRIATE, GOD FORBID, SHOULD IT HAPPEN TO ME I WANT TO KNOW EXACTLY THE AUTHENTICITY OF SUBJECT MATTER.

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU DETERMINED THIS SUBJECT MATTER TO BE TRUE SO I CAN CHECK IT OUT FOR MYSELF.  AND WHY HASN’T THE GENERAL PUBLIC/NEWS MEDIA NOT HEARD OF THIS???

THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.  THIS IS A FRIGHTENING TOPIC THAT IF TRUE AMERICANS SHOULD BE ENLIGHTENED ABOUT.

(name withheld)

As you can see from the above link the information came via an unnamed neurosurgeon using a pseudonym “Jeff” calling in to Mark Levin’s show. Therefore the story – which has gotten coverage all over the internet – was based upon what some may argue is a  questionable source. I would like to point out that we are given information from anonymous sources every day by reporters and are expected to accept it as the basis for forming opinions and making decisions.

The Orwellian FactCheck.org has crafted a rebuttal here. Copy and paste. http://www.factcheck.org/2012/01/neurological-death-panels/

TruthorFiction also tries to debunk the information here:

http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/b/Brain-Surgeon-Obamacare.htm

In other words, there was a real effort by the establishment Ministry of Truth to cast aspersions on the November 22 on air conversation. But when questioned, the talk show host and Constitutional lawyer Levin said “the denials are not convincing.”

“The gentleman used a fake name on the air, so when the associations say they looked into it and could not find that he was at the conference, that is a straw man,” he told WND.

“My call screener was very comfortable that he was what he said he was and I have no basis to disparage anything he said. He knew of the conference, he knew who was holding the conference, he knew of the various meetings at the conference, and he knew the subject-matter thoroughly.”

He continued, “It seems to me the focus by the deniers should be on uncovering what HHS is up to. Have they dug into it, have they filed FOIA requests, have they interviewed numerous attendees, etc.?”

The man who called to Levin’s show said he and his colleagues found the information “disturbing, because as our population gets old the majority of our patients are over 70 who require stroke therapy, aneurysm therapy.”

If you ask me, after listening for the last four years to his show I trust Mark Levin. Period.

Questions

Honestly, if they wanted us to understand the bill it wouldn’t be 2,700 pages long would it? And if it is so good why is this administration giving so many waivers to its supporters? And how are they going to cover 30 million more people and at the same time cut costs? This is about healthcare and that’s about people. Which people are they going to cut?

As to my reader’s question: WHY HASN’T THE GENERAL PUBLIC/NEWS MEDIA NOT HEARD OF THIS??? The media reports what they are told to report. Rush Limbaugh’s daily montage of different outlets using the exact same expressions on the same day is testimony to that. And they ignore what they are told to ignore. And they tell you who is fringe and who is credible so that you will dismiss certain people and ignore certain issues, too. They are well paid hacks. And they have proven that they are not on our side.

Conversely there are outlets like WorldNetDaily or WND.com who cover questions concerning Obama’s birth certificate and purposely obscured background, and who in this article did not so easily dismiss Mark Levin’s caller. Hear Brain Surgeon’s Death Panel Warning  The search engine does not easily lead to this website, I might add, but rather to the refutations. Welcome to 1984.

Folks, it’s time to do your homework. Find your trusted sources and read. Remember:

  • Those who won’t read, as Mark Twain said, are no better off than those who cannot read.
  • Avoid liberal media. They don’t need to convince you; if they can confuse you that is enough to stop you from taking action.

Knowledge is power. But nobody gives you power. Power is something you take.

Yesterday I also received the piece below which gives more perspective and information on Obamacare. Here is the main link.

Ronald Reagan Spoke Out Against Socialized Medicine in 1961

by Jim C. | January 10, 2012 | Opinion

If we had only paid attention to Ronald Reagan back in 1961 we could have avoided Obamacare.  Ronald Reagan foresaw it all and tells us how we are waking up now in American and wondering how did it happen and do you remember when we were free.

I have said from day-one that the Obamacare bill had been sitting on the shelves for 50 years constantly being revised by the socialist lawyers and being rewritten, getting it ready for the right moment to bring it out again.  Hillery tried and failed, then came Obamacare and Pelosi said we needed to pass the bill so we could find out whats in it.

Under the Truman administration it was proposed that we have a compulsory health insurance program for all people in the United States, and, at that time, the American people unhesitatingly rejected this.

So, with the American people on record as not wanting socialized medicine, Congressman Ferrand  introduced the Ferrand Bill.  Ferrand was subscribing to “the get your foot in the door philosophy”, because he said “if we can only break through and get our foot inside  the door, then we can expand the program after that.”  They didn’t get their foot in the door but over the next 50 years they continued to write new regulations into the bill until it became the Obamacare, “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act”, a bill which was over 2,700 pages of legal gibberish that no one had read.

In the 1961 Operation Coffee Cup Campaign against Socialized Medicine as proposed by the Democrats, then a private citizen Ronald Reagan spoke out against socialized medicine. There is no video because this was an LP sent out by the American Medical Association.  We stopped it again but the Progressives never gave up.

Ronald Reagan speaks out on Socialized Medicine, circa 1961. Audio file.

Part 2 is HERE.

I’m sure the more we continue to dig and research the plans of the Communist / Socialist / Progressive / Liberal Democrats we will find that their plans to destroy American Capitalism have been in progress for the past 100 years, and Obama is just the manifestation of their plans.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA),[1][2] is a United States federal statute signed into law by President Barack Obama on March 23, 2010. The law (along with the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010) is the principal health care reform legislation of the 111th United States Congress. PPACA reforms certain aspects of the private health insurance industry and public health insurance programs, increases insurance coverage of pre-existing conditions, expands access to insurance to over 30 million Americans,[3][4] and increases projected national medical spending[5][6] while lowering projected Medicare spending.[7]

PPACA passed the Senate on December 24, 2009, by a vote of 60–39 with all Democrats and two Independents voting for, and all Republicans voting against.[8] It passed the House of Representatives on March 21, 2010, by a vote of 219–212, with 34 Democrats and all 178 Republicans voting against the bill.[9]

If you have a spare week and want to put yourself into Cardiac Arrest follow this link and read what is coming through Obamacare if we don’t get it fully repealed!

Rick Santorum, E-Verify & the Truth

by Jan Shedd | December 28, 2011 | Opinion

Ann Coulter has posted a new piece on her website, dated 12.28.11, entitled Only One Candidate is Right on the Two Most Important Issues.  In the post she says,

“Jon Huntsman, Rick Perry, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum have won statewide elections, but Huntsman and Perry ran in extremely red states that don’t resemble the American electorate. Only Romney and Santorum have won a statewide election in a blue state, making them our surest-bets in a general election (true) . But if Santorum wins, we lose on the second most important issue — illegal immigration –  (false) and he’ll be the last Republican ever to win a general election in America.”(also false).

and then she says:

“Among the most effective measures against illegal immigration is E-Verify, the Homeland Security program that gives employers the ability to instantly confirm that their employees’ Social Security numbers are legitimate. It is more than 99 percent accurate, and no employee is denied a job without an opportunity to challenge the records.

Although wildly popular with Americans — including Hispanic Americans — the business lobby hates E-Verify. Employers like hiring non-Americans because they can pay illegal aliens less and ignore state and federal employment laws.

Any candidate who opposes E-Verify is not serious about illegal immigration. If anything, E-Verify ought to be made mandatory to get a job, to get welfare and to vote.

Kowtowing to business (while pretending to kowtow to Hispanics), Paul, Perry and Santorum oppose E-Verify. As a senator, Rick Santorum voted against even the voluntary use of E-Verify.” (true but misleading).

and -

“Only Michele Bachmann and Mitt Romney aren’t trying to sneak through amnesty for illegal aliens. Both support E-Verify.”  (false-they are not the only ones who support E-Verify).

I like a lot of what she says throughout the post but, in the end, she thinks Romney is the only one who can win. And I have been one of Ann’s biggest fans for a number of years, but that is beginning to change.

Knowing what a solid conservative Rick Santorum is, I found her claims about his position on E-Verify bizarre.  I called the Santorum campaign and left a message telling them what she had written.  I got a call back in a couple of hours.  These are the facts:

In 1997, E-Verify was called the “Basic Pilot Program.”  The bill was HR 3610.  On 7.18.96, Rick Santorum voted for it.  In 2003, it was renamed the “Basic Pilot Program Extention and Expansion Act of 2003.”  On 11.12.03, Rick Santorum voted for it. In 2006, Congress was considering the McCain/Kennedy-amnesty-for-illegals bill, if you will recall.  By then it was called E-Verify, and it was in the bill.  Rick voted against it because he was voting against amnesty for illegals.

Funny . . . Ann left that part out.

The Santorum campaign is putting something together for me to send out that clearly explains his position on illegal immigration and border security.  I will post it when I get it.

Like I said, when the Republican Primary comes to Texas, I will be voting for Rick Santorum to be our nominee.

“Comfortcare” – What Obamacare Will Bring

by Jan Shedd | December 11, 2011 | Opinion Editorial

Anyone out there who thinks defeating Barack Obama in 2012 is not literally a matter of life and death, needs to read this.  And when I say life and death, I’m talking about YOUR life, YOUR parents’, & YOUR grandparents’ lives. Do YOU have anyone  you love or care about who is disabled, elderly, a baby born seriously ill- anyone who is of no use to the state? Because if you do, understand that they will be in grave danger after the next election if this monster wins reelection.  This is the fruit of apathy, and it stinks.  What will YOU do to stop this?  Stay home, watch TV, and complain during the commercials?  Hope that someone else will fix it?  Tell yourself that things “couldn’t possibly get that bad?  After all, this is America?” Or will you step up, as past generations have, and do whatever it takes to save your country and the freedom it once guaranteed?  We are Americans and it’s time we started acting like it.

Do you remember when Sarah Palin talked about Death Panels on her Facebook page?  When she claimed the Democrats’ plan to reduce health care costs was by simply refusing to pay for that care?  Do you remember how she was ridiculed and vilified for suggesting such a heartless thing?  Politifact.com, the so-called fact-checking Web site owned by the St. Petersburg Times, even selected Palin’s assertion as its No. 1 political falsehood of the year:

Sarah Palin’s assertion that the Democratic health care bill would create “death panels” — government bodies with authority to decide whether individual citizens should receive medical treatment.

Well, if you’re a baby-boomer who is closing in on your 70th birthday or have someone near and dear to you who has that birthday in his or her sights, if not already having celebrated it, you might want to pay close attention.

A recent caller to the nationally syndicated Mark Levin talk show gave listeners a chilling sneak preview of what is awaiting the unsuspecting American public if Obamacare is fully implemented.  The caller explained he was a neurosurgeon who had recently attended an advance briefing by government representatives and learned that people hitting 70 will be determined a non-essential medical expenditure if Obama’s socialized medicine has any say in the matter.

According to the caller, the government representatives informed the attendees of the briefing that anyone over 70 years of age would be denied lifesaving (and expensive) brain operations because they were too old to be bothered with and basically had outlived their usefulness to society.

He went on to explain that instead of the current treatment patients now receive for aneurysms or strokes, they will get “comfort care.”  That means they’ll be made comfortable while they die instead of being provided care that would return them to a healthy life.  President Obama referenced this exact same scenario[1].  His comments didn’t really get a lot of press coverage by the major news outlets, but perhaps they should have.  His comments should be carefully listened to.

Maybe it’s just me, but what the neurosurgeon describes definitely sounds like death panels – a government bureaucrat deciding if you are worth saving.  As the caller pointed out, with the nation aging rapidly and with so many living vital lives into their nineties, is this what people really want – nameless pencil pushers and number crunchers deciding whether a person is worth the effort and expense once they hit their seventies?

It makes you wonder what cardiologists (those who are involved with bypass surgery) and orthopedic surgeons (those who do hip and knee replacements) are being told.

It is extremely unlikely that the full implementation of Obamacare taking place after the 2012 election is just a coincidence.  Furthermore, according to the Washington Times, lawmakers seeking funds for other projects have raided the healthcare piggy bank for the third time in less than a year.  Those are the funds the taxpayers are paying to initially help offset the cost of President Obama’s $1 trillion healthcare plan.

Yep, it looks like Sarah Palin might have been on to something when she talked about Death Panels.  That’s going to be a hard pill for many who have nothing but contempt for her to swallow.  Too bad Mary Poppins isn’t around with her spoon full of sugar.

Only those who live in the land of unicorns and rainbows expect reality to always be pleasing to the palate.  Perhaps the prospect of being referred to as a “unit” instead of a patient, and the idea of being prescribed “comfort care” instead of surgery will be enough to knock the rose colored glasses off those who want to believe in the fairytale called Obamacare.

For the rest, they recognize bad medicine when they see it.

Here’s the full transcript of the call to Mark Levin[2]:

Jeff: I heard you talk earlier about the government not knowing how to make pencils and you talked about brain surgeons. And I happen to be a brain surgeon, so I found your topic quite interesting.

I just returned from Washington, DC, where we were reading over what the Obama health care plan would be for advanced neurosurgery for patients over 70, which we all found quite disturbing. As our population gets older, the majority of our patients are getting over 70. They’ll require stroke therapy, aneurysm therapy, and basically what the document stated is that if you’re over 70 and you come into an emergency room… if you’re on government-supported health care, you’ll get “comfort care”.

ML: Wait a minute… what’s the source for this?

Jeff: This is Obama’s new health care plan for advanced neurosurgical care.

ML: And who issued this? HHS?

Jeff: Yes. And basically they don’t call them patients, they call them units. And instead of, they call it “ethics panels” or “ethics committees”, would get together and meet and decide where the money would go for hospitals, and basically for patients over 70 years of age, that advanced neurosurgical care was not generally indicated.

ML: So it’s generally going to be denied?

Jeff: Yes, absolutely… If someone comes in at 70 years of age with a bleed in their brain, I can promise you I’m not going to get a bunch of administrators together on an ethics panel at 2 in the morning to decide that I’m OK to do surgery.

ML: Is this published somewhere where the general public could get a hold of it?

Jeff: Not yet.

ML: So this was just discussed with your community of neurosurgeons?

Jeff: Yes, the AANS [Ed: the American Association of Neurological Surgeons] and the Congress of Neurosurgeons, because everybody knows that cuts are coming in Medicare and medical reimbursement. And we’re the most expensive out of all the fields in medicine. And we’re the smallest field. But at two, three, four in the morning, we’re the ones in the operating room. And we have to wait for an ethics panel to convene, which are not made of physicians — they’re made of administrators. To decide whether a patient should receive our care.

ML: So Sarah Palin was right. We’re going to have these “death panels”, aren’t we?

Jeff: Oh, absolutely. I’m German by heritage, and I’ve read The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, and — basically, they don’t call them patients, they call them units. And if you’re a unit above a certain age, you get comfort care instead of advanced neurosurgical intervention.

ML: You went to a seminar in Washington, DC?

Jeff: Yes. Where a few of my former partners, two of them, have gone to work… one for the Veteran’s Administration and one for the Congress of Neurosurgeons out of DC.

ML: And this information is based, you’re certain, on representations and information provided by HHS and other government officials?

Jeff: Yep.

ML: And when will the rest of us become aware of it? After the [presidential] election?

Jeff: Probably. I mean, there’s so many things that the government keeps under control that are used — things called H.U.D. devices — humanitarian use devices that we’re allowed to use now because they haven’t undergone full FDA approval. And they’re used in surgery because people know it’s the right thing to do. But the government can step in at any time, like they did two months ago with a device, and say, ‘this device hasn’t met what we want’ and there’s no exact criteria, and can therefore take it away from us.

ML: And the people telling you what to do — they don’t know how to make a pencil, do they?

Jeff: Exactly. That’s what I’m saying. You know, we always joke around — ‘it’s not brain surgery’ — but I did nine years after medical school, I’ve been in training ten years, and now I have people who don’t know a thing about what I’m doing telling me when I can and can’t operate.
