Newly elected US Senator Ted Cruz hosted a special blogger’s conference call on Wednesday, January 2, 2013. This was the day before he was sworn into the 113th congress. I was fortunate to be among the crew, as I was when he previously conferred with us at the beginning of his campaign.
“This is a time of enormous challenges,” he began. Referring to the recent fiscal cliff debacle, (or as I affectionately call it the crap sandwich) which the Senate and House just passed, he agreed that it was “a really lousy deal” and lamented the lack of leadership in Washington. “I would have voted no. Republicans should not be raising taxes. Period. The end.” He further noted that $620 billion of tax increases without a penny of cuts is the wrong solution. Spending is a bipartisan problem.
There’s much more — including his admission that he will work with anyone, including Martians, if they’re ready to solve problems. Here’s the complete conversation.

Both Cruz and Cornyn need to remember that they were elected to protect the State of Texas from the evil of big government not be part of the evil.
Cornyn seems to have long forgotten that! I think that it is time to get another Tea Party guy to support Cruz not fold like Cornyn has done several times.
